Another Wonderful White Wednesday

Not exactly "white" white but my take on white nonetheless. i like well-worn (well-loved) , "aged white" so here are a few of my favorite whites on my dining room china cabinet....

...some vintage "coverless" books that i've hand stamped with French images and words....

...and embellished with vintage lockets, keys, watches and crucifix...

...my wine cork collection....

Wishing you all a Happy White Wednesday! Don't forget to go on over to the Faded Charm Cottage to see more white "tresors!"

Wonderful White Wednesday

I'm posting early as i have plans for the evening and i will be heading out first thing tomorrow morning to drive my son back to school after an appointment here at home.
Sharing some pictures of the treasures i found this past weekend. It was absolutley gorgoeus here on the East Coast so i headed to my favorite place in all the world (besides the workshop of course)....the ocean!

The above are pictures of these sweet "sea nests" that I always find at my favorite beach in Rockport, MA. Well....they are not actual "nests" but they remind me of them so that is what i call them. They are actually just seagrass all tumbled together that washes up on the beach from time to time. I love them!

....and some sea pottery. this beach has loads of this gorgeous pottery that washes up along with sea glass. I have jars full of it but can never pass up collecting more of them!
...and a petite silverplated basket that i found at the thrift store for 1.99!! it reminded me of a spring easter basket. i know i'm pushing summer already but i just HAD to fill it with more of my newfound treasures.

...a few more "tresors" from the sea....
Happy WW to all and don't forget to go on over to Faded Charm for some more bits of wonderful white inspiration!

Wonderful White Wednesday

Sharing some photos of bracelets I am making for a wedding. My sister's friend commissioned them for
her future daughter-in-law, the bride's mother and herself. These are so very special in that she gave me buttons and beads from her own wedding dress, the wedding dress worn by the bride's mother as well as buttons belonging to the bride AND groom's grandmothers! I thought this made for a very special and sentimental gift for her future daughter-in-law! She also asked that i somehow represent the bride and groom's heritages....French, Irish and Jewish so i added the sterling charms: Fleur-de-lis, clovers and Star of David's. They are not quite finished but I though they'd make a nice WW post!

And here are a few "tresors" that I am assembling for a new project....

Happy St. Patrick's Day...Happy "Almost Spring"... and Happy White Wednesday! Don't forget to go on over to Faded Charma to be inspired by all of the other white wonderfuls!

Bonne Fete to Moi!

Bonne Fete to Moi (Happy Birthday to me).....
Today is my birthday. Oh my...another year older but i am counting my blessings!
Here's a sweet birthday card that i received from my sister, anne-marie....

Inside it reads.....
"You and I are proof that there can be room for two princesses in one family! You rule today, though!"
Soooooo sweet...and i well remember going to the "penny candy" store to buy those candy necklaces (yes..back when they were really just "a penny!")
Truth be told...there were 4 princesses in our house (well 5 including mom)! I have been blessed with three sisters all of whom i consider my dearest friends.

Here's a picture of us from dancing shcool (they are going to die when they read this post...)
Many happy memories spent at dancing school every saturday..all day! That's me, second from the right, along with my sisters...Julie, Suzanne and Anne- Marie.

And here's a picture of me after i won "The Miss Martin Drive Pageant." The older girls in our neighborhood used to run an annual pageant. We'd practice our "talent" routine, model our favorite summer clothes and all the neighborhod parents would show up on the day of the pageant to watch the new "Miss Martin Drive" be crowned. The year I won was the first year that they had an actual rhinestone crown! For all of the previous years the crowns were handmade out of cardboard that were embellished with jewels and glitter.
I was QUITE the envy of the neighborhood that year!

And...because i am such a sucker for nostalgia...here's my crown today...

...which will be my birthday hat for the day becasue...TODAY I RULE!!

Have a Happy Day!

Celebrating French Friday With Rhonda

A fabulous package arrived in the post this morning and I couldn't wait to tear it open and get my hands on its' French lovliness! Rhonda at "A Little Bit French" celebrates French Fridays by having a giveway each week and, mon cheries, her creations and assemblages are tres, tres beau! This is the petite French Pouch she so lovingly sewed and sent to me!

I really went back and forth about whether or not i should share this with you all. "Selfishly"...i'd like nothing better than to keep her giveaways a secret so that I can have better chances of winning more of her magnifique French creations but...alas....my conscience would get the better of me. So... if you're feeling "A Little Bit French"... then i would suggest you promenade over to her Blog and celebrate French Friday's! Bonne Chance!
