"It's How You Live"

Sharing some inspiring words from an inspiring song....

“It’s How You Live”
“Wake up to the sunlight with your windows open....
Don’t hold in your anger or leave things unspoken.
Wear your red dress, use your good dishes...
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes.
And have what you want
But want what you have...
And don’t spend your life looking back.
Turn up the music, turn it up loud.
Take a few chances, let it all out.
‘Cause you won’t regret it...
Looking back from where you have been.
‘Cause it’s not who you knew
And it’s not what you did, it’s how you live.
So, go to the ballgames and go to the ballet...
And go see your folks, more than just on the holidays.
Kiss all your children, dance with your wife,
Tell your husband you love him...every night.
Don’t run from the truth
‘Cause you can’t get away, oh no,
Just face it and you'll be okay.
Turn up the music, turn it up loud.
Take a few chances, let it all out.
‘Cause you won’t regret it...
Looking back from where you have been.
‘Cause it’s not who you knew
And it’s not what you did, it’s how you live.
Oh, wherever you are and wherever you've been...
Now is the time to begin!
So, give to the needy and pray for the grieving,
Even when you don’t think that you can.
‘Cause all that you do is bound to come back to you...
So, think of your fellow man.
Make peace with God..
And make peace with yourself, oh yeah....
‘Cause in the end....there's nobody else.
Turn up the music, turn it up loud.
Take a few chances, let it all out.
‘Cause you won’t regret it...
Looking back from where you have been.
‘Cause it’s not who you knew
And it’s not what you did, it’s how you live.
‘Cause it’s not who you knew
And it’s not what you did...
it’s how you live.”

I'm In Love....

I spied her in a corner.....

...of a crowded thrift store.
She was almost completely buried by larger pieces of furniture....

...and mounds of pillows.

She "showed some leg"....

...and had me at: "here I am!"

She wore the palest of colors....

...and I just KNEW....

...she would be the perfect addition.....

...to Maison Petite Michelle Louise.

Sigh....I'm in love!

(Found "as is"....oh yea..for $65.00!)
Oh Happy Day!

A Home For My Finds....

I'm still smiling from my jaunt to the At Home With White Event at The Wrentham Country Store this past week-end with my Picker Sister, Susan (Evelyn And Rose).
(If you missed that post...it's just below this one)

The next best thing was finding just the right spots for all my new-found tresors .....
This serenely gorgeous crucifix found  the perfect spot above my living room mantle...

...I just love how the angel wings "frame it."

Three out of the four walls in my living room have French Doors so I have little wall space....

...I like adding frames and mirrors on them to maximize my display space. This lovely open-frame I found at the White Event looks perfect here.

The vanity tray ended up on my living room coffee table as opposed to my actual vanity. I love the way it reflects the light and softness the dark wood finish.

The footed, sliver plated tray is on my dining room table. Soon...It will showcase my collection of seashells.

These two architectural pieces are on my dining room mantle for now.
I say "for now" because there are just about a dozen places I tried them and liked them!

And this sweet vintage crown I purchased was the perfect "halo" for my beloved bust of Ste. Therese.

Last, but not least, these are the sweet gifts that Karen bestowed upon me and Susan upon our arrival...

Handmade soaps....

....a petite chalk-painted pot....

...and an inspiring charm that will always remind me of the delightful day we all shared and the sweet kindred spirits I've met here.
"Merci" Susan....Sandi....and Karen!

White Wednesday at The White Event

This past Saturday, my Picker Sister Susan (Evelyn and Rose) and I spent an amazing day at the 2nd annual "At Home With White Event" at The Wrentham Country Store.
~*~Karen, Me, Sandi and Susan~*~

It was there, last year, that we first met the kindred spirits we found in blogland: Sandi (A Cottage Muse) and

~*~Me, Sandi and Susan~*~

Sandi is not only a vendor there but was recently named The Wrentham Country Store's Creative Director! Congratulations Sandi! You did an amazing job at pulling together an event that is worthy of a spread in Romantic Homes and Romantic Prarie Style!

~*~Karen and I~*~

Karen is also one of the vendors and her booth was a dreamy display of  French Flair, Shabby Chic and Romantic Prairie Style.
Alas....no pictures to show you of all that White Loveliness as I dropped my camera five minutes after we arrived!

So....I will share the tresors that I brought home with me instead....

I love these chippy architectural pieces....

....and this petite lace and pearl crown is so sweet...

...this old mirror frame has such lovely details...

....and how could I leave THIS behind? (sorry Karen)

I'm loving silver-plated trays these days....and this one is "footed."

And, last but not least, was this gorgeous vintage vanity tray! It has the most dreamy patina and will look just lovely on my vanity.

All in all, it was a Wonderful White Event and I for one am counting down the days until NEXT YEAR!
If you'd like to see more pictures about this delightful event, check out Susan, Sandi and Karen's blogs!

I'm joining Kathleen at Faded Charm Cottage on this White Wednesday!

White Wednesday

Joining in on White Wednesday and sharing some tresors that I found at one of my most favorite shops: "Nesting On Main",  in the quaint town of Concord, Ma.

These heavenly vintage pages, from a Bible dated 1816, were brought to my attention by Beth, one of the shops' artists.

She knows me well...

...they took my breath away!

And who could leave behind these sweet vintage French Prayer Cards?

Beth also bestowed upon me this beautiful paper cross that she fashioned out of pages from the same Bible....

...it, too, took my breath away.

Beth happens to be one of the most talented paper artists I have ever known. Her creations are absolutely stunning.....

...I purchased this petite charm from her lovely collection.

She was sweet enough to remember my obsession with old  doorknobs and GAVE this one to me!
"Merci" Beth...you made me smile!

She is working on opening an ETSY shop as well as a blog and, as soon as she does, I will "introduce" you to her properly! You won't want to miss THAT post!

And here are a few tresors that I collected from around my studio....

Happy White Wednesday mes amies!
